We had a quiet day today—no visits, no travelling—which was great. Instead, we had a late breakfast, followed by a crafting day. We were supplied with a piece of tweed, some wool rovings and mohair, and some punch needles to create a small piece of needle felting that depicted some of the things we’d seen in Scotland so far. Some did the hairy coos, many did crofters’ cottages, and I did some sheep, a loch, and hills. The sheep on the Isle of Lewis are all marked on their backs with various colours and shapes to distinguish farmer A’s sheep from farmer B’s. This is why my black-faced sheep all have a red/orange splotch on their backs 🙂
Others went into town this afternoon, but I caught up on writing my blog posts and packing ready for the very early start tomorrow to catch the early morning ferry back to the mainland.
